Nothing to do with me.
Matt and I are leading a mission trip to Brazil in a few weeks.
This will be our second trip to the country, and I am very excited about the possibility of seeing old friends there and making new ones.
One of the many things I’m doing in preparation of our trip is working on my “story.” (Or “testimony”–I have an aversion to super churchy terms. Sorry.)
While my story has never changed, something Matt said the other day really got me. He told the group of kids we are taking to Brazil, “Make sure when you’re telling someone your story, you make it HIS story. Not yours.”
I think maybe my story has been too much me. And not enough Him.
As I was working on it today, a song blasted into my head. (Shocker.) I stopped what I was doing and started searching through my iTunes, hoping I had purchased it at one point or another. I had.
See, my story began with rejection but ends with ultimate acceptance and a love that was always waiting on me. I hope I’ll be able to convey what a miracle that was. I’m a much better writer than speaker.
Too bad I can’t show them this video. It’s powerful. For me anyway.
Cause my story really has absolutely nothing to do with me.
Wow! What a beautiful song and testimony! I had never heard that before brought tears to the eyes! Beautiful! Praying for you guys as you go to Brazil. That is awesome! You definitely have a testimony to share!
until next time… nel
Love this. Great word.
