That’s the love I’m talking about.
Usually, every day when I sit down here at this computer, I know what I’m going to write about.
Today……. I was sort of blank.
I had a video I thought I might post, but, to be honest, I just wasn’t feeling it. And I hate posting when I’m not feeling it.
Then I got an email from Sarah.
She had sent the email, along with an attached video, to a few girls, saying, “…this made me think of you gals.”
A box of Kleenex later, I have recovered and want to share the video with you.
I always felt and still feel so inadequate when trying to walk with Sarah through her cancer. I sort of suck at it. I have found that, not just with Sarah, but with anyone I love who is walking through a dark place, there is nothing I can say that heals. There is nothing I can do that cures. The closest I can come is getting on my face before the only Healer and BOLDLY praying like a crazy woman for Him to bring the healing completely and quickly.
And the other thing I can do is to make certain they know I love them like crazy. I’m on their side. I’m walking this road with them. Like it or not.
Have you ever watched those Biggest Loser episodes when the contestants are running the marathon? Several miles in, they are exhausted. Every step is painful. Their bodies are physically shutting down and they realize they can’t go on. And then… just up ahead… they see a loved one, standing there, waiting on them, cheering them on, ready to run the race beside them. And though they were certain they couldn’t take another step just seconds before, with that person at their side, they finish the race. That’s the love I’m talking about.
I will never feel adequate enough for Sarah. Or anyone going through indescribable pain and trials. But I hope to God they know I’m here. I love them to the moon and back. And they’re stuck with me. Good or bad. Joy or Pain. Cancer or Cancer-free.
